Jack & Jill

December 22, 2009

My Jack&Jill project for the illustration course that I’m taking. Jack and Jill went up the hill, to fetch a pail of water; Jack fell down and broke his crown, Jill came tumbling after.

Cardon Copy

December 6, 2009

Obviously, somebody had to do this!
Just imagine if every piece of trash is revised by a designer like this one.
I like the idea, i like the project.
Have a look at his work and be sure to visit his website.

About Cardon Copy

“CARDON COPY, TAKES THE VERNACULAR OF SELF-DISTRIBUTED FLIERS AND TEAR-OFFS WE HAVE ALL SEEN IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS. IT INVOLVES HIJACKING THESE UNCONSIDERED FLIERS AND REDESIGNING THEM, OVER POWERING THEIR MESSAGE WITH A NEW VISUAL LANGUAGE. I THEN REPLACE THE ORIGINAL WITH THE REDESIGN IN ITS AUTHENTIC ENVIRONMENT.”

WHYISBOX

July 24, 2009

About Whyisbox
“Now, how did that all come about?”

Stopped from painting on street walls, no good at drawing bowls of stupid apples, bored of being ridiculed for drawing words and not pictures in art classes and continuously told “doodling will make you go blind” by the grown-ups; life on planet The kid Has Lots Of Artistic Potential was not looking too rosy for Whyisbox. Life in fact was looking so intolerable that it exchanged it’s inner sketch pad for an inner Stylophone® and hopped on the first ship to Waster Teenage Rave DJ, one of several dysfunctional moons.

Years on now and terribly poor, but socially awesome, Whyisbox moved back to planet The kid Has Lots Of Artistic Potential and, to its overwhelming joy, discovered people now liked to look at doodles and words and wall art! “All praise the Lord of the Internet & Global Social Networking” it cried and set off to build a new home there.

You may enjoy some of the works I’ve chosen for you from whyisbox.

While searching for a school presentation I heard about Reza Abedini, a graphic designer from Iran. The logos and the posters that he has designed amazed me; the priority of the design elements were obvious to me even if I couldn’t read the Arabic typography.

ABOUT REZA ABEDINI: He was born in 1967 Tehran, Iran. He graduated in graphic design from the school of Fine Arts and studied B. A in Painting from Tehran Art University. He leads a professional career as graphic designer since 1989. Four years later he founded Reza Abedini Studio, Tehran.

Thank God You’re A Man

March 24, 2009

I’ve posted Carlton Draught TV commercial earlier. This is yet another beer advertisement (for Goldstar Beer) that I find creative. A humorous poster design which makes a woman sigh “Thank god you’re a man”. You may not agree with the message/slogan, however I’m quite sure you’ll enjoy the design. These were placed in bar toilets.
