Born in 1967 in a tiny village of West Ireland, Philip Treacy began sewing when he was five. As a child, what amazed him the most were weddings; “They were equivalent of fashion shows to me. It seemed so glamorous to see these creatures appear in these extraordinary clothes.” Later on, he moved to Dubling to study fashion at National College of Art & Design where he made hats “as a hobby” to go with the clothes he designed. He specialized in making hats and soon in 1989 was “discovered” by Isabella Blow, the style editor of Tatler magazine.

David LaChapelle is a photographer and video/commercial/film director who works in the fields of fashion, advertising, and fine art photography, and is known with his surreal, unique and often humorous style. His overdose glamorous and flashy photos make my heart beat faster for some reason.

“Levi van Veluw´s photo series are self-portraits, drawn and photographed by himself: a one-man-process. His works constitute elemental transfers; modifying the face as object; combining it with other stylistic elements to create a third visual object of great visual impact. The work you see therefore is not a portrait, but an information-rich image of colour, form, texture, and content. The image contains the history of a short creative process, with the artist shifting between the entities of subject and object.
‘Landscapes’. This 4-piece series reinterprets the traditional landscape painting, removing plots of grass, clusters of trees, babbling brooks from their intimate 2 dimensional formats and transposing them onto the 3 dimensional contours of his own face. Thus a fresh twist is given to the obsession inherent in the romantic landscape of recreating the world and simultaneously being part of it. The romantic landscape and self-portrait genres are combined as a means of re-examination.”

I’ve posted Carlton Draught TV commercial earlier. This is yet another beer advertisement (for Goldstar Beer) that I find creative. A humorous poster design which makes a woman sigh “Thank god you’re a man”. You may not agree with the message/slogan, however I’m quite sure you’ll enjoy the design. These were placed in bar toilets.
